What we found out:We reported in November of 2015 that the Forest Hills sewer replacement project was slated for mid-2016.
CPW General Manager John Young said today that the CPW board approved the project in December but now they are waiting on approval from DHEC and the EPA.
“The paperwork is in but it is not approved yet,” said Young. “It could be any day now.”
The project is set to replace aging sewer lines that are also undersized. Young said that those sewer lines are in bad shape and that he understood they were installed in the 1950’s.
CPW will use a grant for this project that is included in the 2016 budget.
Young said that the engineering on the project is done and they are just waiting on the go-ahead. He said once approved, crews will start on the project as soon as materials arrive. Young anticipates the project to take 3-6 months to complete.
