Council’s regular monthly meeting will be Monday, 6 p.m. in the council chambers, MS Bailey Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
This will be Cannon’s second meeting with the council, after coming on board Jan. 2. He comes to Clinton from Wildwood, Florida, and he has an extensive background as a civil engineer and surveyor.
The council will hear from citizens who have registered to speak prior to the start of the meeting. Four resolutions are up for council approval, naming February as American Heart Association, Black History, Children’s Dental Health and Cities Mean Business Month.
Also, the Clinton City Council will:
-- Authorize purchase of water treatment chemicals for the next 12 months;
-- Authorize purchase of a Ram 4500 regular cab with service body from Cooper Motor Co., Clinton;
-- Make appointments to the board of the Piedmont Municipal Power Agency; and
-- Talk in executive session about a contract related to the Office of City Manager.
