The Crusaders needed to bounce back after back-to-back losses to R.E. Lee and Byrnes over the past three weeks. Laurens Academy improves to 4-3 overall.
Laurens Academy got things rolling on their opening drive and never looked back when quarterback Alex Satterfield connected with Brandon Martin on a 60 yard touchdown pass. Martin finished with 120 all-purpose yards.
Satterfield was 9-14 for 137 yards and two touchdowns on the night. The junior signal caller also rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
The second touchdown pass of the night from Satterfield went to JT Lee from one yard out. Lee also accounted for 50 yards rushing.
In other festivities at the game, former basketball standout Rashawn Richardson was inducted into the Laurens Academy Athletic Hall of Fame and senior Callie Holmes was named the 2009 Laurens Academy Homecoming Queen.
