Woes continue at home for Laurens Academy
Friday, 16 October 2009 23:22

Laurens Academy was not able to put the points on the board when they needed them in a 12-10 loss to Williamsburg Academy on Friday night at home.  The Crusaders fall to 4-4 overall on the season, suffering their third home loss in four games at LA.

Mental errors hurt the Crusaders who saw two touchdowns called back for penalities.  Williamsburg jumped out quick scoring on the opening drive and later scored again to go up 12-0.

LA's first points didn't come until the fourth quarter when the Crusaders recovered the ball for a safety to narrow the margin to 12-2. Laurens Academy then turned around and scored again off of a Williamsburg turnover to bring the score within two at 12-10.

With the game on the line, the Crusaders attempted an onside kick that was recovered by Williamsburg and ending any hopes of a comeback by Laurens Academy.

Laurens Academy will travel to Dillon Christian for their next game on October 23rd.
