| Crusaders split with King Academy |

The Laurens Academy varsity baseball team rebounded from a loss to King Academy to win the second game of the double-header on Tuesday night.
In Game One, Crusader pitcher Ryland Culbertson suffered his first loss of the season pitching five innings, giving up seven runs on six hits with no walks, three strikeouts and two hit batsmen. The Crusader defense committed seven errors in the 7-3 defeat.
Brandon Martin led off the bottom half of the first inning with a solo homerun to right field. Sam Giddens was 2-3 and Griffin Shell was 1-2 with a double. JE Satterfield and Joshua Caviness added singles.
In Game Two, Brandon Martin improved to 3-2 by pitching five innings, giving up two runs on three hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
Martin helped his cause going 2-3 with an RBI double. Sam Giddens was also 2-3. JE Satterfield, Tyler Mitchell, and Christian Greene all added singles.
The Crusaders are now 6-3 on the season and will next play on Saturday in the Sandlapper Tournament on Saturday. LA will face Pelion at 12:30 pm and Batesburg-Leesville at 3:00 pm.
