Ryland Culbertson suffered his second defeat of the season giving up two unearned runs on four hits, no walks and 10 strikeouts.  The LA defense committed five errors in the loss. Culbertson is now 3-2.

The Crusaders offense scattered three singles by JE Satterfield, Christian Greene and Joshua Caviness. Christian Greene had the lone RBI.

Game Two

Batesburg-Leesville – 13

Brandon Martin (3-3) suffered the loss on the mound, going two innings, giving up nine runs, five earned on eight hits, no walks and two strikeouts. Joshua Caviness entered the game in the 3rd to finish, giving up four runs on nine hits, one walk and three strikeouts. The Crusaders defense continued to struggle, committing three errors in the seven-run second inning. 

The Crusaders offense was led by Sam Giddens going 3-4 with a run scored, two RBI and a double.  Brandon Martin was 2-4 with three runs scored an RBI and two triples.  JE Satterfield was 2-4 with a run scored and an RBI.  Griffin Shell was 2-4 with a run scored and a triple.  Ryland Culbertson had a double with two RBI.

Laurens Academy is now 6-5.  Game three of the Sandlapper Classic will be Tuesday at 10:00 am vs. Gilbert High School.
