The Laurens Academy varsity baseball team hosted and defeated Batesburg-Leesville 9-5 on Monday. Ryland Culbertson pitched a complete game improving to 4-2. He allowed five runs (two earned) on six hits, one walk and ten strikeouts.
Christian Greene led the Crusaders offense going 4-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Michael Knight was 2-3 with a run scored. Culbertson helped his cause with a two run homerun in the fifth. Sam Giddens, Griffin Shell, and Taylor Sims had RBI singles. JE Satterfield added a single.
The Crusaders improve to 7-6 and will travel to Woodruff High School on Thursday at 7:00 pm.
