The Laurens Academy Crusaders clinched their region title on Tuesday with a doubleheader sweep of Wardlaw Academy by a combined score of 30-2.

In game one, Laurens Academy defeated Wardlaw 18-2 in three innings. JE Satterfield was the winning pitcher, going three innings, giving up two runs on one hit, two walks and six strikeouts.

Alex Satterfield was 3-3 with a homerun, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored.  Michael Knight was 3-3 with 3 runs scored.  Griffin Shell was 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored.  Christian Greene was 2-3 with 2 doubles, 5 RBI and 3 runs scored. Taylor Sims was 2-4 with a homerun, a double, 3 RBI, and 2 runs scored.  Ryland Culbertson had a solo homerun.  JE Satterfield added a double while Brandon Martin added a single.

In game two, the Crusaders defeated Wardlaw 12-0 in four innings. Martin picked up the win on the mound, allowing one hit and striking out six in three innings of work. Alex Satterfield pitched one inning, walking one and striking out three.

Culbertson was 2-2 with 2 runs scored.  Christian Greene was 2-2 with 2 runs scored.  Taylor Sims was 2-2 with an RBI and 2 runs scored.  Jacob Greene was 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI.  Brandon Martin added a double.  Alex Satterfield, JE Satterfield, and Caleb Sims added singles.

The Cruaders improve to 11-7 (4-0) and will play host to Richard Winn Academy on Thursday at 7:00pm.
