The Laurens District High School National Honor Society gave away books and book bags full of school supplies at the 5th annual Reading on the River at the Little River Amphitheater on Saturday morning.

Children from throughout Laurens County stopped by for giveaways and a chance to hear stories read to them by students at LDHS.

Students from clubs and organizations at LDHS participated in reading books to younger students. Other activities included healthy snacks, face painting, the LDHS robotics team and giveaways from local businesses.
