The Laurens Police Department, Clinton Department of Public Safety and the 8th Circuit Solicitors Office have started a new criminal investigations division. They will hold their first meeting on March 15 at 11am in the Laurens Police Department’s training room.
This division will meet monthly to discuss criminal investigations going on in each jurisdiction.
The three agencies will conduct case reviews to define trends in criminal activity, provide case feedback and offer additional investigation tips. The solicitor’s office will review cases each agency is working on and will provide pointers, tips, as well as prosecution possibilities.
“We believe that each agency working together will help improve criminal investigations throughout the county,” said LPD Asst. Chief Chrissie Cofield.
