Superintendent Dr. Stephen Peters made the announcement at a recent assembly of staff.
As administrative assistant in the district’s Office of Student Services, no two days are ever the same for Gary, but that’s fine with her. “I enjoy being able to communicate with the different schools and with the students, teachers, and principals,” she said.
Gary has worked in the administrative office for the last 11 years and has been employed with the school district for 20 years. Before serving in her current role, she worked as guidance receptionist and secretary at Laurens District 55 High School.
Assistant Superintendent Dr. George Ward said Gary is more than deserving of the award. “Mrs. Gary is always thoughtful, hardworking, and very dedicated. I’ve known her for 20 years and I can’t think of a better person to work with.”
