Laurens District High School (LDHS) will host a College Signing Day for all LDHS seniors on April 25 at 2:45pm in the main gymnasium.

LDHS is inviting parents, family, friends and community leaders to join the celebration. Over 150 students are expected to participate in the signing ceremony.

While athletic scholarship signings are a routine part of high school life, “we believe that every student who gets accepted to a college or university deserves similar recognition for their accomplishments,” said Josh Dawkins, a school counselor at LDHS. Principal Sonya Bryant says, “recognizing our students for all of their hard work is one of the joys of my job.”

As in athletic scholarship signings, the entire student body will be on hand to witness the event.

“This event is also a way of indirectly recognizing the dedication and commitment of the teachers who play an integral role in the success of each student,” said Ed Murray, LCSD 55 Director of Administrative Services.
