The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce board of directors named Amanda Munyan as their new President and CEO at a special called board meeting on Friday morning.

Munyan has served as the executive director of the United Way of Laurens County since August of 2015. She replaces Greg Alexander, who resigned in February to accept a position with the Hilton Head/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce.

"I am absolutely honored to have this position," said Munyan. "I'm ready to get in here and get started."

Munyan was one of four finalists selected to interview for the position.

Munyan is no stranger to the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce. She was the Marketing and Communications Director for five years before joining the United Way.

Munyan has served on multiple non-profit boards and committees and she was the owner of Pixie Dust, a children’s boutique in downtown Laurens.

Munyan is a Laurens County native and resides here with her husband, Drew Munyan, and their two sons.
