The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Chick-fil-A of Laurens County and CrimeStoppers of Laurens County, hosted a ‘fill the cruiser’ school supply drive on Monday at Chick-fil-A in Laurens.

The school supply drive started at 10am and ran until 2pm. Items contributed included: pens, paper, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, hand sanitizer, composition notebooks, tissue, 3-ring binders, book bags and more.

Over $200 in cash was also donated and those funds were used to purchase additional school supplies.

The school supplies collected will be evenly divided between District 55 and 56 and then allocated to those children in need for the new school year.

"This was something we thought of to do things a little different to help these kids going back to school,” said Capt. Chris Martin with the LCSO.
