Laurens Police Chief Sonny Ledda visited Laurens Middle School on Wednesday morning to honor a very special student.

After reading a story on GoLaurens.com about a student who returned money that he found on the school bus, Ledda came to Laurens Middle School to meet this student. Ledda presented Randall Cheeks with a $25 gift card in recognition of this act of kindness and display of honesty.

The Laurens Police Chief praised Cheeks for his honesty and encouraged him to continue to be an example to others.

"I think that Randall is a wonderful young man who exhibits the character traits that LMS is trying to instill in their students," said Ledda.
