The program kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast in the Grier Student Center Dining Hall. Guests can enjoy a wide variety of early morning favorites including grits, eggs, sausage, bacon, biscuits, fruit, cereal, pastries and made-to-order omelets. The cost is $5 for those without a meal plan.
An enlightening program on "Unity and Diversity" begins at 8 a.m. in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium. The event features inspirational musical performances by the university's Minorities on the Move Choir, followed by reflections of keynote speaker Dr. Linda Dolny, Chair of Lander's Board of Trustees. Special guests include Mamie Nicholson, Lander Trustee Emerita; Lander President Dr. Richard Cosentino; and The honorable Senator Floyd Nicholson.
