Once having trained men at the police academy in Kosovo, Don Evans can be found these days instilling vital tactics in Laurens Police Department officers. The LPD training lieutenant and Special Response Team leader has resumed his duties with the local agency after more than three years spent on orders with his S.C. National Guard unit.

Local residents planning to take their family to the annual Clinton Fall Festival will have to flip the calendar a few pages. To bring a fresh approach to the downtown event, the city has elected to move the festival to springtime.
