With no open space in the Laurens County Higher Education Center, USC-Union at Laurens needed a new location and according to Dr. Alice Taylor-Colbert, they have found a new home.

Following the continued success of its annual 5K/10K fundraiser and outdoor festival which brought out hundreds, the Whitten Center is bringing back the family-friendly event this fall.

What began in May of 2011 has become a quarterly ritual for those that want to rid Laurens County of litter as the Beautify Laurens County initiative was at it again on Saturday.

Dr. Chris Sheppard, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities since 2010, will be one of the featured artists performing at this year’s Garden Song celebration in the Ferguson Meditation Garden on the campus of Laurens County Memorial Hospital on Sunday, September 22, at 6 PM.

The Laurens County Tea Party will be meeting Thursday, Sept. 19th at 7 pm at Laurens County Higher Ed Learning Center, 663 Medical Ridge Rd., Clinton in Room 411.
