Born in Prosperity, he was the son of the late James Arthur and Sarah Pugh Bedenbaugh. In his life Jim showed that being a Christian was more than just attending church, rather it must be lived daily. Jim lived his Christian faith daily through leadership and teaching roles in his church, Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, loving and caring for his family, mentoring young men on the importance of being a Christian and living his Christianity in his business, Beden-Baugh Products.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Ira Bedenbaugh and wife Carol of Laurens, Robert Bedenbaugh and wife Rachel of Franklin, TN and Sarah Bedenbaugh Jenkins of Laurens; a sister: Anne Bedenbaugh Ott and husband Furman of Laurens; and his grandchildren: Cal, Gibbs & Elizabeth Bedenbaugh and Douglas Jenkins.
A worship service to celebrate the life of Jim Bedenbaugh and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 12, 2014, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Alex Henderson and Rev. Tony E. Crouch.
The family will be at the home and will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a cause in which Jim was passionate, the people of Liberia. This can be done through Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church Attn: Liberia Mission Team, 499 Chestnut Ridge Road, Laurens SC 29360.
