Born in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Franklin and Marie Bouknight Hartsell. Margaret was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens and was the very first employee of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community where she retired as an administrative assistant.
Surviving are her children, Davis Sexton of Laurens, Boyd Sexton (Jane) of Piedmont, Ralph Sexton (Susan) of Gray Court, Tom Sexton (Cathey) of Gainesville, GA, Rob Sexton (Kathy) of Clemson, Wesley Sexton (Lisa) of Simpsonville, Tim Quattlebaum (Sandy) of Boiling Springs, NC, and Ruth Cone (Len) of Columbia, SC; nineteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her two husbands, Jack D. Sexton, Sr. and Rev. Ed Quattlebaum; daughter-in-law, Louise Sexton, granddaughter, Jennifer S. Lewis, an infant grandson, and her three sisters, Maidie H. Garrett, Evelyn H. Wheeler, and Bernice H. McKinney.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 17, 2017, at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel conducted by Rev. Rickey Letson, Dr. Bev Kennedy, and Dr. Lawton Neely. Private Burial will be held in Laurens City Cemetery.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel one hour prior to the service on Friday.
