Garfield Beasley - Laurens

Mr. Garfield Beasley, of 110 Short Street, Laurens, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the Martha Franks Retirement Center, Laurens.

Born in Laurens, SC, a son of the late Katie Wilson Beasley and Willie J. Beasley, he was a faithful member of the Evening Light Church of God, a licensed Funeral Director with the Beasley Funeral Home, Inc. and a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Clara Floyd Beasley of the home; one son, Charles (Dorothea) Beasley of Hanahan, SC; four daughters, Catherine D. Beasley of Laurens, Elmira (John Edward) Burton of Joanna, Paulette (Kwame Ashante) Johnson of Brooklyn, NY and Clara (Kermit) Golden of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, Jonathan (Clara) Beasley of Beaufort, SC, Marion (Sarah) Beasley of Fountain Inn and Kenneth Beasley of Laurens; two sisters, Marjorie (Calvin) Johnson of Simpsonville and Kathryn Barksdale of Laurens; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 12 Noon, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Poplar Springs AME Church with Rev. Isaac Cropp Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with military rites.

The family is at the home of his daughter, Cathy Beasley, 610 Fleming Street, Lauren.

Beasley Funeral Home, Laurens is in charge of arrangements.
