Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of the late David Lloyd Allison and Faye Knighton Allison Taylor. Mildred was a homemaker and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 9539. She was a member of Rock Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, where she was a member of the choir, Joe Getty’s Sunday School Class, and Rock of Ages Senior Group.
Surviving are three children, Robbie Allison Dunagin and husband Harold of Waterloo, Susan George Morris and husband Ray of Ninety Six, and Thomas R. George, Jr. and special friend, Sissy Phillips of Seneca; three siblings, Edward Allison and wife Dottie of Travelers Rest, June Bailey of Satsuma, FL, and Sarah Beth Quinn and husband Mike of Spartanburg; six grandchildren, Sonya Young, Kellet Stephens, Allison Blankenship, Michael Morris, Brenna Morton, and Thomas R. George, III; thirteen great-grandchildren, TJ, Austin, Tyler, Nicholas, Megan, Joey, Beau, Georgia, Camile, Emma, LeElla, Krew, and Kaiden.
In addition to her parents and husband of sixty years, Mrs. George was predeceased by two brothers, Doyle Allison and Gerald Taylor.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 30, 2017, at Rock Presbyterian Church in Greenwood conducted by Dr. Chris Leonard, Rev. Debbie Marshall, Rev. Chuck Sprouse, and Dr. Jay Hering.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at the church immediately following the memorial service.
