Born in York County, SC, she was a daughter of the late James Madison and Edna Lucille Moss Knight. A homemaker, she was a member of First Assembly of God in Laurens and also attended Infusion Worship Center of Laurens before her health declined.
She is survived by: her children, Robin Ashmore (David) of Laurens, Tina Payne (Jim) of Ocala, FL, Kelly Painter of Blacksburg, Holly Morris (Trace) of Gray Court, Misty Gibson of Clinton, and James Gibson of Columbia; sisters, Kay Sistar of Rock Hill and Bobbie Greene (Ed) of Goose Creek; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and numerous friends and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by: a son, William Rush Gibson; a son-in-law, Jimmy Lee Painter; and a brother-in-law, Silas Sistar.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 7, 2017, at First Assembly of God in Laurens, conducted by Rev. Gary McInnis and Rev. Monty Osborne with burial in Westview Memorial Park.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends on Monday at The First Assembly of God one hour prior to the service.
