Riverside tops Laurens 4-3 in 10 innings

The Riverside Warriors scored one run in the bottom of the tenth inning to defeat the Laurens Raiders 4-3 on Friday night at Riverside High School.

Bryson Smart singled off of reliever Jalen Bragg to start the bottom of the tenth for Riverside. A walk and an intentional walk loaded the bases. The next batter grounded into a fielder’s choice at home for the first out of the inning. Matt Cline then singled to drive in the winning run.

Laurens scored their three runs in the top of the second. Kobe Williams had a 2-RBI single in the inning.

Ethan Jones pitched seven strong innings, allowing three runs on six hits, walking two and striking out eight. Bragg pitched the 8th, 9th and 10th for Laurens, allowing one run on three hits, walking two and striking out one.

Laurens tallied just four hits in the game. Layton Mahon, Morgan French, Ty Foster and Williams all singled.

Laurens falls to 5-2 and will host Clinton on Monday night at 7pm.
