Lady Raiders rout Riverside, 17-1

The Laurens Lady Raiders scored 17 runs in the bottom of the first inning to rout the Riverside Warriors in three innings on Friday night, 17-1.

The Raiders were led at the plate by CJ Ginn, who was 3-3 with a single, two doubles, and 4 RBIs. Laurens sent 22 batters to plate in the bottom of the first. Others contributing at the plate were, Bailey Gibbs, Mattie Cantrell, Cassy Plaia, and Vanessa Harshaw, combining for a total of 7 RBIs.

Rachel Delio and Taylor Powell split time pitching for the Raiders. Delio, throwing one and one-third innings, threw 21 pitches, struck out two, and had no walks, picking up the win. Powell, threw 20 pitches in one and two-thirds innings of work.

The Raiders move to 2-1 on the season and 2-0 in Region II 5A play. Laurens will host Belton Honea-Path on Monday night. First pitch is slated for 7:30pm.
