Cvetko, Patterson lead All-Laurens County baseball team

Laurens High School senior Jared Cvetko has been named the All-Laurens County Baseball Player of the Year for 2017.

Cvetko joins Laurens head coach Tori Patterson atop the All-Laurens County team as Patterson was named Coach of the Year for 2017.

Each season, coaches from Laurens Academy, Clinton High School and Laurens High School nominate players from their team to be named to the All-Laurens County baseball team. The sports staff of and along with other local media selects the All-Laurens County team.

Cvetko led the Raiders to a berth in the 5A state playoffs this season. He batted .326 with 29 hits and 13 RBIs. On the mound, Cvetko was 6-2 with a 0.92 ERA. In 53 and one-third innings pitched, he struck out 69 batters.

Cvetko was recently named to the All-Region team.  

Patterson took the Raiders to the state playoffs as the interim head coach. He led the Raiders to a 19-8 record in 2017. The Raiders lost to T.L. Hanna in the 5A district semifinals.
