Tyger River eliminates Laurens from SC Little League state tournament

The Laurens All-Stars’ season came to an end on Sunday after a 14-4 elimination game loss to Tyger River in the SC Little League Coaches Pitch State Tournament at Laurens City Park.

Laurens took their first loss in the double-elimination tournament on Saturday to Tyger River, 18-4. Tyger River advances to play Northwood in the state championship game on Monday night at 6pm at Laurens City Park.

Laurens took a 3-0 lead after one inning but defensive errors allowed Tyger River to go on top 7-3 after two innings.

Laurens cut the lead to 7-4 in the third but Tyger River took advantage of more defensive miscues to score seven runs and end the game by run-rule.

Jaylin Bluford was 2 for 2 and Wyatt Pinson was 2 for 2 with two runs scored.
