Thomas Jones in the minors: Week of July 10

Laurens native and Miami Marlins minor leaguer Thomas Jones picked up three hits in four games during his fourth week of the 2017 season with the Batavia Muckdogs of the New York-Penn League.

Batavia is 10-15 on the season, after finishing this past week with a record of 2-3.

Jones batted leadoff and second in the lineup last week but moved to the sixth spot beginning Wednesday of this week.

The Muckdogs were off on Monday, rained out on Thursday and Jones was not in the lineup on Sunday.

On Tuesday, Jones was 2 for 4 with an RBI. He followed that up, going 1 for 4 on Wednesday with a run scored.

Jones was held hitless on Friday and Saturday, going 0 for 3 and 0 for 4, respectively. Jones was walked on Friday and scored a run.

For the week, Jones was 3 for 15 with a walk, two runs scored and an RBI.

For the season (22 games), Jones is batting .181 with five doubles, a triple, 10 runs scored and eight RBIs. His on-base percentage is .303.
