The Laurens Lady Raiders scored the first 14 points of the second half on their way to a 50-36 win over the Clinton Lady Red Devils on Friday night at LDHS.

The 14-point run broke open a one-point game at halftime with the Lady Raiders leading 22-21. Cali Heisey scored seven points in the third quarter to pace the Laurens run.

By the time Clinton scored their first bucket of the second half, Laurens led 36-21. A basket by Savannah Campbell was the lone Clinton points in the third quarter. Qua Fortson nailed a three-pointer to give Laurens a 39-22 lead after three quarters.

Heisey scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to put the game away. Clinton did outscore Laurens in the final frame, 13-11, but it was not enough.

The first half of the game was a tight contest. Laurens led 12-10 after the first quarter and 22-21 at halftime. Freshman Sandajah Vance led Laurens with 13 of her game-high 16 points in the first half. Heisey added four points in the first half.

Defensive pressure in the second half was the difference for the Lady Raiders. Clinton struggled getting into an offensive flow due to ball pressure by Laurens.

Both teams return to action on Tuesday with Clinton hosting Emerald at 6pm and Laurens playing at Spartanburg at 6pm.
