The Hillcrest Rams came to Laurens on Tuesday night and spoiled Senior Night for the Raiders with two blowout victories.

The Laurens boys were defeated by the Rams 65-33. The Lady Raiders dropped a 57-42 decision to Hillcrest.

The Laurens boys fell behind early on against Hillcrest as the Raiders could only manage to score two points in the first quarter compared to the Rams 15. Hillcrest would take a 20 point lead over the Raiders before Josh Greene hit six consecutive points to give life to Laurens on offense. This would go on to be the Raiders best offensive quarter with 17 as they went into the half down 31-19.

Hillcrest came out of halftime and were able to score 25 points in the third quarter compared to the Raiders 11 to take a 56-30 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Hillcrest offensive success would continue into the fourth as they scored 19 points in route to the win.

Ty Foster led all Raiders with eight points. Josh Greene, Carson Todd, and Dee Foster all finished with six, Christian Anderson finished with three, and Conner Dunlap and Justin Anderson finished with two each.

In the girls game, the Hillcrest offense proved to be too much for Laurens and this began in the first quarter as the Rams scored 18 points compared to the Raiders nine. They scored nine again in the second quarter by taking advantage of the Rams aggressive defense and drawing fouls. The Rams would lead 32-18 at the half.

The Lady Raiders had a great start to the second half as back-to-back scores from both Cali Heisey and Alexus Espinoza helped the Raiders cut the Rams lead to four. Unfortunately, Laurens would fall back on defense and Hillcrest would score 20 in the third. Hillcrest remained strong on both ends of the court in route to the win.

Alexus Espinoza led all Raiders with 12 points followed by Qua Fortson with nine. Cali Heisey would finish with eight points on the night. Other notable scorers were Sandajah Vance with four, Jayla Mosley, Lamoria Allen, Katyah Foggie, and Portland Wallace with two, and Ashanti Conway with one.

Laurens will wrap up the regular season on Friday at Greenwood. Girls tip at 6pm and the boys tip at 7:30pm.
