The Hickory Tavern Middle School Lady Panthers won their third consecutive Little River Championship by defeating Mid-Carolina Middle School 33-27 on Monday night at HTMS.

Hickory Tavern overcame first half foul trouble as several Lady Panthers stepped up to secure a 16 to 15 half time lead. Ranyia Jackson picked up her second foul with 4:48 left in the 2nd quarter forcing the Lady Panthers to adjust their game plan.

"I was very proud of how our girls responded and pulled together to keep the game close with Ranyia in foul trouble,” said Hickory Tavern head coach Jon Jansen. “I was also pleased to actually have a lead at the half. Navia Blanding played the whole game with all guts and heart. She represents our school exactly how I would hope a student-athlete should, with good work ethic and a team first attitude."

The leading scorers for HT were Ranyia Jackson 13, Kimyah Foggie 11, Macayle Revis 5, Taylor Hiott 2, and Morgan Richard 2.

The Lady Panthers end their season with a record of 16-1.
