SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Gary South Shore RailCats held on late to beat the Sioux Falls Canaries 6-5 in 10 innings. Joe Testa struck out Kevin Dultz with the bases loaded on a full count to end the game and give the RailCats a two game winning streak. The RailCats held off the Canaries after not being able to in the home half of the ninth.

Laurens High School senior Cody Smiley has been named the GoLaurens.com/GoClinton.com Laurens County Baseball Player of the Year for 2014.

The Region I-AAAA All-Region track team was announced last week and the Laurens Raiders were well represented.

 

The Presbyterian College baseball team sent its five seniors off with a 4-1 home victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday afternoon, clinching the series in the season finale at the PC Baseball Complex.

The Presbyterian College Athletics Department announced today that a new lighting system will be installed at Bailey Memorial Stadium for the upcoming 2014 football season. The lights, provided by Musco Lighting, will be paid for by football revenue and game guarantees and will be operational for the opening contest against Bluefield College on September 6.
