The Laurens District High School wrestling team grabbed three wins and suffered two losses in the Red Raider Rumble at Greenville High School on Saturday.
A 28-8 run midway through the second half lifted the Winthrop Eagles past the Presbyterian College Blue Hose by an 81-68 margin on Sunday afternoon at the Templeton Center.
Both Laurens Raider squads fell short against the Greenwood Eagles on Friday night at LDHS. The Boys fall to 7-11 (0-4 Region) as the Girls fall to 7-10 (1-3 Region).
It would be interesting to see Laurens County’s three girls’ basketball teams play one another. The athletic merits of Laurens Academy, Laurens District High School and Clinton High School might be a source of some debate, though the Lady Raiders swept the Lady Red Devils to resolve the public-school end.
BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – The Blue Hose outscored the Runnin’ Bulldogs, 35-27, in the second half to rally to within five with under a minute to play, but could not overcome the 16-point halftime deficit, as Gardner-Webb survived the Presbyterian College men’s basketball team, 61-53, in Big South action Thursday evening in Boiling Springs, N.C.
The Laurens Raider boys and girls teams were defeated by the Riverside Warriors on Tuesday in a region matchup.
