Johnston’s Ware Shoals program wasn’t built in a night

CLINTON – Chris Johnston, who spent 14 years coaching at Laurens Middle School and 19 in District 55, went back to his hometown, Ware Shoals, this year to coach girls’ basketball where his father, Bob, won five state championships.

Raiders top Vikings in overtime, 82-79

Five Raiders scored in double figures to lead Laurens to an 82-79 overtime victory over the Emerald Vikings on Friday night at LDHS.

Tollison named head baseball coach at Laurens Academy

Former Laurens Academy Crusader Luke Tollison has been named the school's new head baseball coach. Tollison replaces Daryl Halbert, who resigned from that position after five years at Laurens Academy.

LDHS wrestling falls to Dorman, Nation Ford

The Laurens District High School wrestling team was swept by Dorman and Nation Ford in match on Wednesday.

PC Athletics to add acrobatics and tumbling

Presbyterian College and Director of Athletics Danny Sterling announced Thursday the addition of Acrobatics & Tumbling to the college's athletic department.  Amber King has been named head coach with the team setting to compete beginning in the 2019 spring season.  She becomes the only Acrobatics and Tumbling head coach to start more than one program, having coached the inaugural programs at Glenville State and King College.
